When we purchased the building, it did not have Electric, Plumbing, HVAC, Roof, or anything close to a level floor.
Our Contractor B.C. Construction has done an awesome job working with all the great subs to get us to this point. You can only get so much accomplished working with temporary power. We are still working off temporary power, which makes it tough to heat the building for things like painting, tile flooring, drywall mudding, etc. The frigid weather caused a major problem in getting AMEREN to set a transformer for the building. It was either too cold for them to work, or they were fixing the emergency problems on warmer days. We think opening the new Missouri Pickleball Club is an emergency! AMEREN thinks that restoring power to those without should move ahead of our job, and I guess we would agree.
There is a domino effect with construction. The roof can’t be completed until the ice has melted off. You can’t install 70 tons of HVAC until the roof is complete. You can’t heat the building with the new HVAC units until you have full power. You can’t finish the drywall taping and sanding along with the bathroom tiles until you can have a consistent temperature in the space. The floors can’t be leveled until the other trades are out of the way. You get the idea…
The floor leveling, shotblasting, and court installation should be able to be completed over the next 2 weeks. Once this is complete, we will need just a few days for the sound system, cameras, millwork, furniture, and equipment to be installed, and we will be ready to open!
